RPG Sidequest Decks

Created by Inkwell Ideas

Every card is a mini-adventure! Map on one side, outline on the other: GM info, story hooks, encounter plot points, & follow up ideas. Our Kickstarter was to make four new sidequest decks to expand the 11 we made previously (15 in all). And because two of the new Sidequest Decks are related to our previous 9 NPC Decks, you can pick any of those as well. The four new Sidequest Decks are Monster Hunts, Coastal Town Quests, Frontier Town Quests, and Pulp Adventures.

The EU/UK Shipping Begins Next Week! Address Changes Needed
about 2 years ago – Fri, Feb 18, 2022 at 10:07:11 PM

Great news!

Shipquest in the UK has received the decks, and plan to begin shipping all our EU & UK orders next week. (They didn't give me a firm date--I suspect it could start Monday, but if they have other big commitments next week it could slide a few days.)

It has been several months since we locked addresses, so if you're in the EU/UK and you're getting physical decks, please send me your new address if it has changed by Sunday 9pm US eastern time. If your address it hasn't changed, no need to send anything.  Also, if your phone number has changed please send that as well. (Some shipping services require it.)

I'm sure you don't want your phone number or address posted publicly, so please don't post a comment.  Please either send a Kickstarter message to me or email support at inkwellideas dot com with the new address & phone number.

Thank you!  And I'm so happy to get these in your hands!

Still Working on the EU/UK Shipping
about 2 years ago – Sun, Feb 06, 2022 at 02:37:50 AM

Hi Folks,

The rest of this message is for folks in the UK/EU... Everyone else should have your decks & PDFs.  If you don't, please send me a private message here on Kickstarter or an email to support at inkwellideas dot com.  You can post a comment, but 99% of the time my response will be send me a PM or email because we probably don't want your order info/address posted publicly. :)

For those of you in the UK/EU, the holdup in the prior update was to get an EORI number. Fortunately, that did get sorted out by the end of that week.  So this past week has been getting some shipping paperwork finalized and in the right format.

And the time zone difference doesn't help.  Any time my printer or I get a message in the morning, even if we respond early, it is already mid/late afternoon for them, so we may not get an answer until the next day. And that's happened just about every day last week.  I'm really hoping we're about to have the paperwork done.

I'll post another update either in two weeks if the decks aren't shipped explaining why, or else I'll post more quickly as soon as the decks are shipped to the UK fulfillment center.

Thank you for your understanding!  (Everyone's been great, especially when I keep you updated--so I am!)

More UK/EU Delays
over 2 years ago – Thu, Jan 27, 2022 at 07:27:06 AM

So, I had expected the decks to ship to the UK facility soon after my last update, then they would ship from there to all UK/EU backers...

But due to Omicron, FedEx (the company my printer uses to send shipments) was limiting shipments to just essentials (medicine, food?).  So we contacted GamesQuest (who was going to receive the shipments and send them to backers) to see if they work with another shipper who will ship it.

After a few days of back and forth they did give a quote, which is kinda high, but not terrible. However, they also pointed out that without an EORI number, I'll be paying VAT twice--once when the products get into the country and again when they ship to everyone. My VAT registrar, UK tax rep, and Gamesquest never told me about this EORI number and why it is needed.  :(  VAT confuses us dumb Americans. :)

I'm told getting the EORI number is relatively quick (3-5 days), but it requires some info (a UK Tax ID) that I don't have.  I emailed my UK Tax rep to see if they have it on Friday last week, and just sent a reminder. I plan to email my rep's boss if I don't hear by tomorrow.

So I'll post another update late next week.  Hopefully by then I'll have the EORI number or it will have been submitted.

I'm terribly sorry this is delayed for you all.  At some point I'm just going to say I'll eat the double-VAT to get the decks to you, but I'm hoping this EORI number is the last hurdle.

It is really encouraging that the overwhelming response to these updates about delays is along the lines of "we understand shipping is difficult right now, thanks for keeping us informed." Thank you for your positive outlook.

Shipping to the UK/EU & Our Next Project
over 2 years ago – Wed, Jan 05, 2022 at 11:47:24 PM

HI Folks,

Although we got the VAT number on the 23rd, as you might guess our partner companies were short-staffed until this week.  So our decks haven't been shipped yet. :( However, Gamesquest (aka Shipquest/Tradequest) who is doing the UK/EU shipping are now in direct contact with our printer and I expect it to go out in the next day or two. (Gamesquest required some extra paperwork of exactly what was in each box we were shipping to their warehouse which took some more time to coordinate.)

So once the shipment is in the UK, that fulfillment center will be sending them out to all UK & EU addresses with duties already paid. That's what all this effort has been for.  I suspect we're still looking at two weeks (best case) for them to be in your hands. The good news is that going through this VAT registration process will make it easier for our next project....

Which will be three new sets of our DungeonMorphs!

We'll have a set of sewers, crypts, and lairs (caverns) dice. Each set will start as five 1" dice with engraved designs and hopefully grow via stretch goals. All of those will be combined into one deck of 2.5"x2.5" cards, font, 10"x10" battlemat tiles, and another book of encounter ideas (sort of like 1-page dungeons for each design).  We made all of these extras for our prior DungeonMorphs Kickstarter as well. If you're interested, please go to this link and click the "Notify me on launch" button. You can also follow us on Twitter for more update & look at past posts for other previews.

But we're not launching this new project for a few weeks yet.  We want to make sure the EU/UK shipping is out the door before we do anything new.

Thanks again!

UK VAT Number Received!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Dec 23, 2021 at 06:22:48 PM

Hi Folks,

Late last week we did receive our UK VAT number!  I expect the decks for UK & EU backers (the EU orders are shipping duties paid from our UK warehouse) to ship to that UK warehouse in the next couple of business days. They haven't shipped yet because there is some paperwork the warehouse needs including which decks are in which boxes and so on.  That's being finalized now and I expect/home to ship to the warehouse in the next few business days.  (Of course since it is the holidays everyone is short-staffed.)

So hopefully UK/EU backers will get their decks in the next 3-5 weeks...? That's a guess--this process has proven other issues can pop up, unfortunately.  But as many of you have commented (thank you!) being late is OK, as long as you're informed and there's some progress.

Thanks Again & Happy Holidays!

Joe
